Last sunday was the festival de maiz in a neighboring town. I went with the local dance troupe from the casa de la cultura, who performed a traditional salvadoran dance and a modern hip hop one. Above the pictures are of a children's dance troupe from another town, our dance troupe in their traditional outfits, then in their hip hop outfits, and the "reina de maiz," the queen of corn.
